Who's Filming In The Bahamas?

A Bahamian actor, known as “Getoff King,” received a new crown this summer, as he was named “Male Actor of the Year” at the most competitive talent search in New York.

A new series with Bahamas scenery premiered on Apple TV on August 14, and the show has been a hit with viewers.

Bahamian director, Lavado Stubbs, will be at the helm of the next two episodes of the television show, "Johnson." Episodes 6 and 7 of Season 4, which were filmed in Nassau/Paradise Island, air on Bounce TV this Saturday and next Saturday at 8pm. 

HGTV brought another set of hopeful home buyers to The Bahamas for the latest installments of their hit series, House Hunters.

Seasoned real estate professional, Timothy Smith, navigates prospective homeowners through stylish properties in Nassau in Season 251 of House Hunters. The episode, entitled "Searching for a New Home in Nassau," premiers 10:30pm on July 1, 2024.

The wild forests and waters of Andros were the scenic backdrop for an adventure video produced by one of Youtube’s most popular channels.

Dude Perfect, the Youtube channel with more than 60 million subscribers, descended on Central Andros for an action-packed competition. The show, described as Island Survival Games, featured three teams of two that competed in various challenges.

The government of The Bahamas, in its 2024/25 budget, foreshadowed new measures to support for the Orange economy and working artists. “In order to support our talented Bahamian artists, this budget will continue provisions, which would allow Bahamian artists to import supplies and equipment on a duty-free basis,” said Prime Minister and Minister of Finance, Hon. Philip “Brave” Davis in the House of Assembly.

Bahamian filmmaker, Tyler Island, participated in another film workshop intended to develop film productions from the Caribbean, Africa, and the Pacific region. Over the past two years, Tyler has participated in EuroDoc in Martinique and DEENTAL-ACP in the Dominican Republic.
